For being a short book, it took me a while to get through this.  I  had the same problem with Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," which I don't think I ever finished.  You can't argue about the writing, Kerouac is no rookie.  Some parts of it will make you want to pitch your iPhone into a lake and sleep under the stars.  Maybe you'll meditate too. I enjoyed it.  I suggest reading it in bigger chunks to stay in the story.
