#2 Theo - growing up when life was simple
#2 Theo - growing up when life was simple
Theo. Older on her driver’s license than in real life. She's a pistol with a flower in the muzzle. Theo fell in love with the piano player on the back of a truck. Married and stayed that way for forty-nine years. Sincerity in her voice. A voice slightly cigarette-scarred. Not pulling any punches. At eighty-five years old, she’s never thrown one either. Her eyes are important. They’ve got a depth to them. They help her stories. Narrow shoulders, big smile, little Jewish girl.
Theodora was nine years old in 1941. A date which will live in infamy. (That's the kickoff for the second world war for all of you dummies.) In this episode, River and I sit Indian style at her feet and have a conversation which goes in many directions. There is no specific subject on this episode. We just wanted to talk with Theo. It's not every day you get to speak with someone who's four-hundred and ninety-nine years old. Just kidding Theo. You're a bad motherf*cker...I mean that in the best way possible.
