Music with no words

war with nothing to lose

tension paired with caviar 

poison spread with a butter knife

light from dead stars

misplaced memories

a species with amnesia

roads to nowhere 

fast moving

sensless noise

mindful mischief 

an unnamed game

high price of entry

no prize money

a box filled with expired love notes

remember to feel 

forget about the pain

find what you’re looking for

or look for what you’re finding

house of mirrors

sleeve of aces

no bulletproof vest

full tilt 

downhill both ways

I wrote a poem with no meaning

had a staring contest with the devil

she blinked first

I laughed last

made love with a witch

taste tested the potion 

too salty 

saved room for dessert

burnt a hole in the bible

patched it with mud

built a wormhole to paradise

missed my flight

moved in with a stranger

wrote my own eviction letter

signed it in piss

taped it to the television

but never plugged it in

got confuse by the process

found serenity in the sand

a puzzle with a trillion pieces 

two missing

tried some fast math 

passed with flying colors

flew too close to the sun

heat treated my wings

the phone rang

swatted back to reality
